  • Tips on Storing & Protecting Large Format Inkjet Media

What’s the best way to store and protect large format inkjet media before using it?

Keep rolls of media stored upright. When multiple rolls of inkjet media are stacked and stored horizontally, it can affect the shape and usability of the roll. Consider using a rack or cart specifically designed to hold multiple rolls of large format inkjet media.

Store unused large format inkjet media in its original packaging. The plastic sleeves and/or core plugs protect media from damage that might affect your ability to use the inkjet media in the future.

Allow large format inkjet media to acclimate to the temperature and humidity conditions of your print room before you start printing on it.

Handle the media by the edges of the roll, or use lint-free white gloves to avoid scratches, abrasion, and fingerprint marks.
